Method 1 – Direct search
Open Instagram, tap Followers, type the name in the search bar. If the profile does not appear in any list, they unfollowed you (or blocked you).
Useful for: verifying specific people. Not useful for: finding everyone who left in the last month.
Method 2 – Notification history
Settings -> Notifications -> Follow. If enabled since the beginning of the account, you can scroll through recent notifications. It is limited but sometimes shows who newly followed you (and may have unfollowed since).
Method 3 – Reliable tool
Use a free web tool that uses only public Instagram data (no password). It crosses your lists and shows in seconds:
- Recent unfollowers
- Fake accounts in your audience
- Silent blocks (sudden drops)
- Non-followers
Social Blade is the most used, free in basic features.
