Method 1 – Manual, directly in the app (safest)
This is the slowest method, but it is 100% safe and requires nothing beyond your Instagram:
- Open Instagram and go to your profile
- Tap Followers
- Look for the search bar at the top of the list
- Type the name of the person you want to check
- If they do not appear in the results, they unfollowed you (or blocked you – see how to differentiate)
Pros: safe, official, no installation.
Cons: only works for people you remember to check.
Method 2 – Old notifications (limited)
If you have notifications active since the beginning of the account:
- Settings -> Notifications -> Posts, stories and comments
- Verify that Follow is activated
- Scroll through your old notifications (limited by the app)
In practice this method is quite limited. Instagram only keeps recent notifications.
Method 3 – Trustworthy third-party tools
A free web tool is the most practical option. We detail the best options at the end of this guide.
